This 14-hour self-study with audio and video classes and homework is being offered to health and wellness professionals who want to learn, experience and apply mindfulness-based methodologies with clients and other health professionals. During this course, the health educator/professional will develop and practice a variety of mindfulness techniques as if they were the client, encouraging deep insight and thoughtful awareness. This course also provides lessons on how the health professional can work with clients mindfully promoting sensory awareness and proactive living. Examples are provided throughout as well as worksheets that can be utilized with clients and other health educators. Through experiential learning, the health educator can apply these skills and help clients create a mindset that will lead to life-long positive behavior change. This training experience is a combination of lecture, demonstration, individual exploration and interactive skill practice.

- Identify tools to use to assess client stress and how to apply positive solutions to promote stress resilience and overcome obstacles.
- Determine how to teach and utilize experiential mindful techniques with clients.
- Support clients by creating a “mindful” plan that investigates, engages and provides accountability and confidence-building.
- Become a resource to other health educators by teaching the benefits of using mindfulness techniques when working with clients and harnessing positive behavior change both short-term and long-term.
