This 12-hour self-study with audio and video recordings is being offered to health and wellness professionals who want to integrate traditional health education practices with mind-body medicine. Modules are provided in 1 - 1 1/2 hour segments so you can work at your own pace with specific topics to focus on individually. As you move along the path of wellness, you'll discover connection between the topics that you can utilize in your own life as well as use to educate your clients.
Wellness is an active, lifelong process that involves many categories including social, emotional, physical, intellectual as well as spiritual. During this course, the emphasis will be on ten key elements that represent a holistic approach to living. This training experience is a combination of lecture, demonstration, individual exploration and interactive skill practice.
Educational Objectives: After completing this training the participant will be able to:

Mind Body YOUniversity will be notified of your purchase and then will set you up in the system to become a member. Then, you will receive a second email. This will be an invitation email that will have a link and will allow you to create a password so that you can access the materials for the course. You will be asked to complete a pre-test first. Then, you will begin the course viewing/listening to each module. After completing the course, you will receive a post-test and evaluation. After completing all tasks with 80% correct on your post-test, you will receive your Certificate of Completion. Note: If you do not receive a passing grade on the first attempt, you may edit your answer(s) and resubmit.
CHES or MCHES - This activity has been approved by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (NCHEC) for a total of 12 Category 1 credits for CHES/MCHES. Of the 12, six (6) have been approved for advanced-level.

- Define the six dimensions of wellness as defined by Bill Hettler and how it applies to integrative modalities.
- Describe and demonstrate Helen Erickson’s theory of Modeling and Role Modeling as it applies to working with clients in a holistic manner.
- Demonstrate knowledge and use of the “readiness for change” theory as it pertains to supporting a client and creating a team approach to cultivating holistic wellness.
- Recognize and identify 4 integrative wellness techniques a wellness professional can use to engage and support clients who are ready to improve their health and create harmony.
- Learn and demonstrate 4 ways to convey and apply integrative wellness methods in special populations within different settings.
- Learn about ten health and wellness practices that encompass holistic living and how these can be applied to working with clients
- Understand the risks associated with today’s society on the central nervous system
- Experience and learn about stress and eliciting the relaxation response
- Determine how taking time for self-care helps bring balance and harmony within and to those around in social settings
- Discover how mindfulness can assist in calming the central nervous system and assist with life balance
- Discover the benefits of incorporating mind-body practices into everyday life
- Acquire knowledge in a variety of mind-body techniques including mindful meditation, guided breathwork, progressive muscle relaxation, body scanning and visualization
- Determine which yoga poses can assist in getting a good night’s sleep in addition to building strength and flexibility
- Determine which foods create a balanced diet that provide energy throughout the day
- Gain a great understanding of how today’s society with technology doesn’t assist with gaining a deep sleep
- Discover a bedtime ritual that can assist with getting a restful night’s sleep
- Learn how journaling can help with creating mindful, life changes
- Uncover a path to a meaningful life with poise and purpose
