Sleep...Health and Healing
Sleep is an integral part of health that is often compromised to accommodate busy living. Without quality sleep, our body is unable to recover...leading to health conditions that could become chronic. Deep, restful sleep allows our brains to file memories and flush out toxins. Without quality sleep, we cannot think clearly or process information. Our circadian rhythm and internal circuitry struggle to find harmony. Sleep deprivation can impact our gut health which influences our metabolism, immune system, mood, stress levels and more. During this course, you’ll discover that quality sleep is key to overall health and wellness. You’ll discover why we sleep, research regarding sleep and homeostasis within each organ and bodily system. You’ll understand barriers to obtaining a good night’s sleep along with an inventory to utilize with clients. You’ll learn behavior change methods that will assist clients in obtaining deep, quality sleep that will help the body with recovery, feeling refreshed and energized throughout their day. By utilizing these methods, clients can improve their health and reduce their risk of chronic disease and make the connection that sleep should not be dismissed and that it has a significant impact on overall health and quality of life. This course is created in two parts: 1. education and research 2. coaching methodologies to make sleep an integral part of life.
