The Art of Myofascial Release
This three-hour self-study with video modules, audios and supplemental resources handouts is being offered to wellness professionals and yoga practitioners who want to learn more about the habitual tension we often hold in the body and how to methodically let go and regain balance and harmony within.
Fascia is the inner webbing that lies within us. It is a type of connective tissue that connects, separates, protects, supports and communicates independently and with the nervous system. It encases and penetrates every part of our body. Due to injury, trauma, overuse, hydration, aging and so on, the fascia can become restricted, less functional. Myofascial release (MFR) is a therapeutic massage technique that manipulates the soft tissues of the muscles and fascia and is used for both therapeutic and preventative measures. During this training you will learn methods such as compression, rolling, shearing (to name a few) individually and with yoga to assist you and your clients in regaining movement and ease within the body.
This activity has been approved by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (NCHEC) for a total of 3 entry-level Category 1 CECH - One (1) has been approved for advanced-levels credits (MCHES). This is also an approved course with Yoga Alliance.
