Nutrition for Optimal Health
This two-hour self-study with audio and video modules and resources is being offered to health and wellness professionals who want to learn more about the role that nutrition has on health.
Nutrition is the key to optimal health and well-being. In today's society of eating on the run, consuming too many processed foods, being confused about what is healthy and what isn't, it's no wonder that many people are overfed and undernourished. Quality nutrition is important to keep our bodies in harmonious working order, reduce our risk of developing serious health concerns and improve our ability to fight off illness.
In this course, we will look at the key components of nutrition. We'll review the intricacies of vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, and amino acids. We'll also look at deficiencies and the impact they can have on our entire bodily system. We'll look at specific whole foods and their nutrient content as well as interesting information that promotes well-being. Last, but not least, we'll investigate food cravings and why these may occur.
This activity has been approved by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (NCHEC) for a total of 2 entry-level Category 1 CECH.
