The Breast Cancer Series
This four-hour self-study is being offered to health and wellness professionals who want to learn more about the development and lifestyle factors that may increase the risk of being diagnosed with breast cancer.
A diagnosis of breast cancer often triggers fear. For those personally affected, questions like "How did this happen?", "Could I have done something to prevent it?" or "How can I prevent a recurrence?" may arise. When a friend, co-worker, or family member is diagnosed, one might wonder, "How can I avoid this?" or "What are my risks?" This course will delve deeply into breast cancer. We will define it, examine statistics, and explore potential environmental contributors. Additionally, we will thoroughly examine the role of genetics. In addition, there is a yoga session included to assist those who have undergone lumpectomies or mastectomies. There are also articles taking a functional medicine approach. The aim of this course is to provide you with information that is applicable both personally and professionally, especially when advising clients on lifestyle and genetics concerning breast health.
This activity has been approved by the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (NCHEC) for a total of 4 entry-level Category 1 CECH - Two (2) have been approved for advanced-levels credits (MCHES).
