Welcome! As a naturopath, wellness and health educator, author, and movement and meditation teacher, I share an integrative, holistic, and natural approach. This includes everything from nutrition and herbal medicine to mindfulness, yoga, and somatic movement.
I draw insights from over two decades in holistic health and somatic studies. I also have thousands of hours of training and professional certifications in complementary disciplines, including Naturopathy, Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurveda, holistic nutrition, health education, herbal medicine, aromatherapy, mindfulness, functional medicine and wellness coaching. At the heart of my work is a deep reverence for the natural world, fostering a connection to the Earth and helping people heal.
Yoga and Movement As a long-time teacher and student of yoga and therapeutic movement, I bring over 25 years and thousands of hours of dedicated personal practice and teaching to my classes and offerings. The yoga and movement classes I offer are therapeutic, focus on students’ individual needs, and are informed by in-depth, long-term study of anatomy, bodywork, mindfulness, Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda. Classes integrate physical yoga postures with energetic and anatomical teachings, often focusing on contemplative awareness and connection to the body and breath.
Along with dynamic forms that teach alignment and encourage strength and stability, my classes focus on calming the nervous system, releasing stress and fatigue, building vitality, and supporting presence. Beyond my foundational yoga and somatic movement training, I’ve studied in depth with dozens of insightful, well-known teachers such as Shiva Rea, Jon Kabat-Zinn, Sarah Powers, Seane Corn, Kathryn Budig, Rod Stryker, Rodney Yee and Tiffany Cruikshank, to name a few. Their varied styles of yoga and teaching methodologies have assisted me in becoming the teacher I am today. In addition to being a certified yoga teacher, I am also an instructor of mindfulness and somatic movement through several advanced multi-year certification programs. I am a registered E-RYT 500 yoga teacher and an approved continuing education provider with Yoga Alliance and the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing.
Retreats and Offerings I am very grateful to the many places where I’ve offered my work over the years. This includes being the Wellness Manager at SAS Institute for over 20 years and being able to creatively oversee all the wellness and yoga programming in addition to teaching classes, workshops and retreats to better the health and well-being of so many. I’m also grateful to the many yoga studios and retreat centers that have hosted me over the years including YogAsana South, Evolve Yoga, Chatham Mills, The Umstead Hotel and Spa, Duke Integrative Medicine, The Art of Living Retreat Center, the National Wellness Conference, Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and Elohee Retreat Center.
These days, I live and work in the beautiful, scenic foothills of the Sauratown Mountains that were once the sacred and traditional lands of the Saura people, also known as the Cheraw tribe. This natural setting of mountains, springs and rivers is perfect for yoga and wellness retreats!
I enjoy working with clients, offering online classes and educational courses, teacher training and in-person retreats. I also spend my time writing and creating homemade botanical lotions, creams, tinctures and teas.
